Reiki

“Reiki is a gentle, loving Japanese healing art that invites universal life force energy—called ‘ki’ or ‘chi’—to flow through you, restoring balance and supporting your body’s natural ability to heal itself.

Picture this: We all have an unseen vital energy flowing through us, keeping us alive, vibrant, and connected. When life brings stress, trauma, illness, emotional ups and downs, or just daily wear-and-tear, this energy can become low, blocked, or out of harmony. That’s when we feel tired, anxious, in pain, or simply ‘off.’ Reiki gently clears those blockages and replenishes the flow, allowing your whole being—physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual—to come back into alignment.

As a Reiki practitioner, I don’t ‘heal’ you in the way a doctor might fix something. Instead, I’m a clear channel for this universal energy. During a session, you stay fully clothed and lie comfortably (or sit if that’s easier). I place my hands lightly on or just above specific areas of your body—often starting at the head, moving to the shoulders, heart, stomach, and feet—holding each position for a few minutes. The energy flows exactly where it’s needed most, guided by your body’s own wisdom. Many people feel warmth, tingling, a deep sense of peace, waves of relaxation, or even emotional release. Some drift into a meditative state or fall asleep—it’s all perfect.

What makes Reiki truly holistic is that it doesn’t just address symptoms; it nurtures the whole person. It calms the nervous system, eases stress and anxiety, supports pain relief, improves sleep, boosts emotional resilience, and helps you feel more centered and connected to yourself. Because it’s so gentle and non-invasive, it’s wonderful as a complement to conventional medicine—many use it alongside treatments for chronic conditions, recovery from surgery, cancer support, or simply to maintain well-being.

  • Just for today, I will not worry → Let go of fear and trust the present moment.
  • Just for today, I will not anger → Release inner tension and choose peace.
  • Just for today, I will be grateful → Cultivate appreciation for life’s gifts.
  • Just for today, I will do my work honestly → Live with integrity and presence.
  • Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing → Extend compassion to yourself and others.

At the heart of Reiki are five simple, powerful principles (called the Reiki Ideals) that guide daily life and deepen the healing:

These aren’t strict rules—they’re loving reminders to live mindfully, one day at a time. Many people find that repeating them daily (even silently) brings profound shifts in how they feel and move through life.

Reiki is spiritual in nature but not religious—no dogma, no belief required. It works whether you ‘believe’ or are just curious. The energy is intelligent and always benevolent—it goes where it’s most needed for your highest good.

In short, Reiki is an invitation to remember your own wholeness. It’s a beautiful, supportive way to reduce stress, reconnect with your inner calm, and allow healing to unfold naturally from within. Many clients say after a session: ‘I feel lighter,’ ‘more myself,’ or ‘like something heavy has lifted.’ That’s the gift of Reiki—gentle, profound, and deeply nurturing.

If this resonates, I’d love to guide you through a session so you can experience it for yourself. It’s safe, relaxing, and always tailored to you.”
